Inspired by the costuming, lighting, and characters, this piece was my own take on the genreâs most popular techniques, shots, and tropes. Film Noir was dedicated to breaking rules and shirking conventional Hollywood meansâperfect for casting Black actors at a time when their presence was still considered UNconventional. But yet, they were largely absent. This is a celebration. My piece features all Black subjects in a series aptly titled âFilm Noir.â Enjoy.
